The Designer
The Founder and Owner of Bagaceous™ Louisa Catharine, began her love of designing at the age of five much to the consternation of her mother.
To this day her Mother treasures her daughter’s early attempts at Jewelry Design.
Coming from a business minded family, with two older brothers, she was always passionate about following in their footsteps and leaving a mark on the world as they have done too.
Her love of designing never ceased and while still at school she began her first company in partnership with an older friend. Their business was fashion based, with a number of clothing lines of which they outsourced eighty percent of the manufacture thus allowing Louisa Catharine to complete her schooling.
During their first year in business, her business partner brought back a number of exquisite pieces of silver and turquoise jewelry from his vacation to South America. Her passion for jewelry design was once again ignited.
Louisa Catharine went on to study jewelry design and manufacture, many amusing exploits followed, including a close encounter with acid when etching a three dimensional piece covered in hieroglyphic styled writing.
On completion of her jewelry course, Louisa Catharine was inspired to study further and enrolled in fashion design/manufacture and choreography.
Whilst designing couture gowns for her clients, Louisa Catharine found a gap in the market for certain styles of jewelry which are simultaneously unique and versatile.
Her focus turned once more towards jewelry and as a result, Bagaceous™ was born. Created in memory of two very special people and now also a lasting legacy to her late brother, Mark, his love of art, design and architecture will live on.
Louisa Catharine’s designs have led her into entertainment after her first Red Carpet Order and since 2006 she has also been involved in the production side of the film industry as a financial broker.
Awarded the 2010 Global Citizenship Award For Leadership In Helping Humanity, in NYC by Orphans International Worldwide.
She is currently working on the promotion of the UK movie, ‘Unspoken’, which exposes a cause close to her heart.
2011 sees Louisa Catharine specialising in Bespoke ‘Statement Jewelry’ and a line of apparel which will initially only be available to her team of models. Late this year, the apparel will be available to buy through the Bagaceous™ website and our various stockists.
